Help us stop the construction of new UBC animal experimentation facility in the Okanagan Campus by signing and sharing this petition. UBC has gone out of their way to keep details of this facility secret. Lets make sure everyone knows about whats going on at UBC.

Chris Harvey-Clark, veterinarian and Director of UBC's animal care says that 95 percent of animal testing will be done on mice and fish,and when possible, experimentation will be done on cell cultures and with computer programs. Activists are not convinced about the reassurances from a program kept in the dark.

Revelations by the British Union for the Abolition of Vivisection (BUAV) of Air Canada’s role in the transportation of primates for research led to widespread publicity and an international campaign. As a consequence, Air Canada has made a decision to stop the transportation of such primates and filed an amended tariff to the Canadian Transportation Agency. Unfortunately, following a complaint, the CTA has now suspended Air Canada’s amended tariff pending a hearing on its proposed new policy.


WHAT YOU CAN DO:
The BUAV has joined with Change.org and launched a petition in support of Air Canada’s decision, requesting that the Canadian Transportation Agency recognise the strength of public feeling on this issue and allow Air Canada to align its policies with those of other major passenger airlines.
